All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has been turned upside down with the recent takeover by The Elite, a faction that has already taken down two of the promotion’s top authoritative figures, President Tony Khan and EVP Kenny Omega. The Elite’s latest antics saw them hijack Tony Khan’s appearance on Dynamite, where he was supposed to address recent events, and then brutally attack Kenny Omega, leaving him stretchered out of the arena.
In a recent interview on Cincy 360, Tony Khan acknowledged that he was not the best person to take on The Elite alone, citing his limitations and deciding to leave it to others who are better equipped to avenge him and Kenny Omega. Khan’s decision comes after his own brutal beating at the hands of The Elite, and he knows that he needs reinforcements to take on the faction.
Fortunately, help may be on the way. During last week’s Dynamite, FTR came to Kenny Omega’s aid after he was attacked by The Elite. The duo, still seething from being robbed of the tag titles at AEW Dynasty, is eager to settle scores with The Elite. Additionally, Kota Ibushi, a close friend of Kenny Omega, has pledged his support, despite being sidelined with injuries.
However, one dark horse in this feud is Hangman Adam Page, the original fourth member of The Elite. Currently suspended after putting his hands on a referee at AEW Revolution, Page’s whereabouts are unknown, but his history with The Elite makes him a wild card in this scenario.
As the drama unfolds, one question remains: who will officially take on the task of avenging Tony Khan and Kenny Omega and going after The Elite? With the two men unable to take on the faction alone, it’s likely that a coalition of AEW’s top stars will form to take on The Elite and restore order to the promotion. The question is, who will be the one to lead the charge?
