Wrestling veteran Jim Cornette has weighed in on the ongoing storyline between Roman Reigns and The Rock, predicting that it will ultimately lead to Reigns turning babyface.
Reigns, who made a dramatic heel turn in 2020, has since solidified his position as The Tribal Chief alongside his associates in The Bloodline.
Despite The Rock’s recent alignment with The Bloodline and acknowledgment of Reigns as his Tribal Chief, speculation abounds that a betrayal could be on the horizon.
Cornette, speaking on his podcast, The Experience, shared his insights:
“I think the Reigns babyface turn doesn’t have to be predicated on The Rock stealing The Bloodline because Paul [Heyman] is an opportunist… This may be part of The Rock’s plan at some point to give a catalyst to turn Roman babyface because when those two larger-than-life personalities and egos explode, you maybe you’ll get that match,” he suggested.
Cornette further elaborated on the potential dynamics, emphasizing Reigns’ role as the eventual babyface:
“And also Roman would obviously be the one to be babyface because The Rock would have gotten him into a lot of this… Paul could still be with Solo and Roman could be a huge f**king babyface at some point whatever that point is.”
Meanwhile, The Rock’s recent appearance on SmackDown saw him challenging Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins to a tag team match against himself and Reigns at WrestleMania XL Night One.
If Rhodes and Rollins win, The Bloodline will be banned from ringside during Reigns’ championship match on Night Two.
With both sides poised for a confrontation on the upcoming episode of SmackDown, the anticipation is palpable.
As these four superstars prepare to come face-to-face, the question remains: will Reigns ultimately make the transition to a babyface character?
The unfolding drama surrounding The Rock, Reigns, and The Bloodline promises to captivate WWE fans as WrestleMania XL draws nearer.
