Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is an exuberant, humor-laden action escapade set in Metropolis. However, as the game nears its conclusion, there’s a notable tonal shift in a post-credits scene dedicated to honoring the late and revered voice actor Kevin Conroy.
Having portrayed Batman since the debut of Batman: The Animated Series in 1992, Conroy emerged as the quintessential voice behind the iconic character. His legacy extended through numerous DC Comics animated films and the Batman Arkham series, a project developed by Rocksteady, the same team behind Suicide Squad.
Tragically, Conroy passed away in 2022 due to cancer, yet his work on Suicide Squad appears to have been completed prior to his demise. In the game, which shares a narrative universe with the Arkham series, Conroy reprises his role as Batman. A heartfelt post-credits tribute to the talented actor can be viewed on YouTube, courtesy of the fan-operated channel Batman Arkham Videos.
For many fans, especially those of a certain age, Conroy remains the definitive embodiment of the caped crusader, surpassing even the likes of Michael Keaton or Christian Bale.
His collaboration with Mark Hamill, the longstanding voice of the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, still stands as one of the finest animated shows ever created. Notably, this series introduced the character of Harley Quinn, who has since evolved into an iconic figure in her own right.
While Suicide Squad marks Conroy’s final performance as Batman in a video game, there are reportedly two more upcoming projects featuring Conroy in his legendary role. Additionally, the game sheds light on the events following Arkham Knight, offering fans insight into Batman’s storyline after the conclusion of that game.
