The highly anticipated Starfield DLC, Shattered Space, is set to release soon, offering a darker, more horror-themed experience to Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG. The DLC will launch on Monday, September 30, 2024, for both Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Bethesda has shared the exact release times for various regions, allowing players across the globe to access the new content as soon as it becomes available. The staggered global release means players in different time zones will get access on either September 30 or early October 1.
In Shattered Space, players are transported to Va’ruun’kai, the homeworld of House Va’ruun, a new and unexplored location within the Starfield universe. Upon arrival, players will find the city of Dazra devastated by a mysterious vortex, leaving House Va’ruun struggling to recover.
The storyline centers around solving the mystery of this vortex and discovering the fate of the remaining survivors, adding a compelling mix of tension and intrigue to the game.
The DLC is accessible to most players with minimal prerequisites. To begin the Shattered Space storyline, players only need to complete the first mission of the main quest, “One Small Step.”
After completing this mission, players can grav-jump to an unused orbit where they will receive a distress call from a large star station called The Oracle, which serves as the entry point for the new content. This straightforward requirement ensures players can start a new adventure without much delay.
For access to the DLC, players who purchased the Premium or Constellation editions of Starfield will automatically receive Shattered Space. Those with the standard edition will need to buy the Digital Premium Upgrade to unlock the DLC. Additionally, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can easily download the DLC as part of their subscription, providing broad availability across different player bases.
