Springloaded Software, known for the 2021 game Let’s Build a Zoo, has announced its latest project, Let’s Build a Dungeon. This new title is a complex management simulation where players balance running a game development studio with creating their own MMORPG. The game will be available on Xbox and PC, offering a unique blend of business management and creative game design.
The management aspect of Let’s Build a Dungeon involves recruiting various staff members such as artists and programmers, overseeing project deadlines, handling advertising and press relations, and negotiating with shareholders and publishers. The goal is to evolve from a small indie startup into a major studio, achieving success through effective management and strategic decisions.
In addition to studio management, players will design and develop their own fantasy MMO. This includes crafting everything from dungeons and quests to monsters and towns. Players will need to tailor their game to meet the demands of their virtual player base, with the ability to directly experience their creation through the eyes of the players.
The game offers dynamic interaction with the virtual world, allowing players to adjust gameplay elements like drop rates and enemy stats in real-time. Decisions made in-game, such as balancing financial risks with creative vision or responding to community feedback, will impact both the game’s success and investor satisfaction.
Let’s Build a Dungeon will feature a campaign mode where players can develop new game content and mechanics, as well as a Creative Mode for more personalized and flexible creation. Players can share their creations online or upload them to an in-game browser. While it promises to be more ambitious than Let’s Build a Zoo, details on its release date are still pending, but an open beta is expected to offer a glimpse of the game soon.
