Sony Interactive Entertainment is making a notable return to the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) this year, joining other major platform holders like Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Square Enix. This marks Sony’s first full-scale participation at the event since 2019, as their presence last year was limited to showcasing independent titles.
Sony’s involvement in TGS 2024 follows the announcement of their 2024 line-up in a digital State of Play presentation in May. The line-up includes live service multiplayer game Concord, PC editions of Until Dawn and God of War, and Astro Bot. All these titles are expected to be available by the time of the event.
Initially, there was uncertainty regarding Sony’s attendance at the Tokyo Game Show, especially since the company decided not to participate in this year’s Gamescom. However, their confirmed presence at TGS suggests a strategic focus on the Japanese market and major gaming events in the region.
The Tokyo Game Show 2024 will be held from September 26 to 29 at Makuhari Messe in Chibi, Japan. Alongside Sony, other prominent developers and publishers like Capcom, Bandai Namco, Konami, Sega, and Square Enix will also be showcasing their latest projects, making the event a significant gathering for the gaming industry.
