WWE is undoubtedly eager to secure the re-signing of Shinsuke Nakamura as his contract approaches its end this year. This past Monday marked a significant moment for the Japanese Superstar as the journey towards WrestleMania 40 unfolded.
On Monday’s RAW, the focus was on building anticipation for the upcoming Elimination Chamber event later this month. Nakamura was prominently featured in the main event against Sami Zayn, clinching a victory with an assist from Drew McIntyre.
Taking to Twitter, Nakamura expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of Monday’s main event in just five words: “MAIN EVENT and BEAUTIFUL FINISH.”
Nakamura also shared a snapshot from his triumph over Zayn on Instagram, letting the image speak for itself without any accompanying caption.

This recent win came hot on the heels of Nakamura’s Bull Rope Match loss to Cody Rhodes in the previous RAW main event. Despite the setback, Nakamura has showcased his resilience with victories in Street Fight matches and live events against Rhodes.
However, not everyone is impressed with the ongoing feud between Rhodes and Nakamura. WWE’s Road to WrestleMania 40 has featured several clashes between the two, but former WWE Attitude Era head writer Vince Russo has expressed his discontent, labeling the program as unnecessary.
Russo questioned the storytelling approach, advocating for feuds where the outcome remains uncertain until the end. He criticized the predictability of the Rhodes vs. Nakamura storyline, suggesting it would ultimately have little impact on viewership.
As the narrative unfolds, next week’s RAW is set to feature a singles match between Rhodes and McIntyre, with Nakamura likely to play a pivotal role in the proceedings.
