Following his departure from WWE amidst the merger with UFC’s parent company, Endeavor, Shelton Benjamin, a former Intercontinental Champion, is looking towards the future with optimism and flexibility.
In a candid conversation with Simon Miller of WhatCulture Wrestling, Benjamin shared his plans for the coming months. Taking a relaxed approach, he expressed his intention to explore new opportunities and embrace life beyond the confines of WWE.
Reflecting on his extensive tenure with the company spanning over a decade, Benjamin emphasized the importance of keeping his options open and enjoying a well-deserved break.
“My immediate plan is just to coast a bit and see what’s out there, see what life has to offer. Because for seven years, I was with WWE and… I had a ten-year run with them before that. So for now, I’m not in any rush. I’m keeping my options open,” he revealed. Additionally, Benjamin disclosed his upcoming involvement in an event in Australia, indicating his willingness to continue showcasing his talents on a global scale.
In a separate interview with Wrestling, former WWE star Chris Adonis (formerly Chris Masters) showered praise on Benjamin, highlighting his exceptional athleticism and timeless appeal.
Adonis marveled at Benjamin’s enduring physical prowess, affirming his status as a standout performer in the industry.
As speculation swirled regarding Benjamin’s potential move to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), tensions arose when AEW star Max Caster suggested that the locker room was not interested in Benjamin.
Responding with resilience, Benjamin issued a succinct yet impactful two-word message, underscoring his resolve amidst the uncertainties of free agency.
As Benjamin embarks on this new chapter of his career, fans eagerly anticipate his next move and remain supportive of his journey beyond WWE.
