Diablo 4 has once again become a focal point of community discussions with the advent of Season 3 (Season of Construct), as discontent surfaced regarding unfavorable traps and ineffective loot in certain encounters. However, Blizzard’s latest patch appears to have turned the tide.
Expressing gratitude to the Diablo community for their feedback since the commencement of Season 3, community development director Adam Fletcher conveyed on the Blizzard forums, “This patch addresses some changes and fixes to a few key items we have been hearing in the feedback including the Seneschal Construct, Vaults & Arcane Tremors, and the Echo of Malphas.”
The patch, rolled out across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, aims to tackle the season’s major concerns. The Malphas boss fight is being bolstered, and legendary item drops are being increased. Additionally, a new item to summon Malphas is being introduced, allowing players to safeguard their precious pearls.
Addressing the Seneschal Construct, a mechanical pet introduced in this season, the team recognizes its potency at max level but acknowledges that the grind to reach that point is excessively tedious. To rectify this, the patch incorporates “more sources to earn Governing and Tuning stones” for leveling up Seneschal. The complete patch notes can be found here.
The swift response to Season 3 appears to have resonated positively with players, which is evident from the largely favorable reactions on the Diablo subreddit. One commenter expresses, “These are honestly all huge, very fast improvements. I like this a lot.” Another adds, “All fantastic changes.”
However, some players note that Diablo 4 has a tendency to launch divisive seasons only to rectify them at a later date. Season 1 was deemed a problematic start, and while Season 2 had a successful run, Season 3’s challenges have stirred discussions. Optimism is expressed for future seasons to exhibit better conditions right from the beginning.
