During a recent discussion on the Gigantic Pop podcast, wrestling veteran Matt Morgan shared his thoughts on the involvement of Cody Rhodes’ wife, Brandi Rhodes, in his ongoing storyline with The Bloodline at WrestleMania XL.
As Cody prepares for two high-stakes matches against The Bloodline at the upcoming event, Matt Morgan expressed his opinion that Brandi should not be brought into the storyline, unlike Cody’s mother, as it could potentially generate heat for Cody.
“[Brandi hasn’t been mentioned but I think I know the reason why.] I do too because it gets Cody heat. Keep her out of it Cody, trust me. [If she gets involved, one, she is not gonna put up with any bullsh*t but it’s gonna make Cody look super like beta male if Brandi upstages him.] Yes, he will,”
Morgan said.
Brandi Rhodes’ History in WWE
Brandi Rhodes had two stints in WWE, initially signing with the company in 2011 after a successful tryout. However, she requested her release later that year. She returned in 2013 and spent nearly three years working primarily as an in-ring announcer and backstage interviewer before leaving alongside Cody in 2016.
Following their departure from WWE, Brandi worked alongside Cody on the independent circuit and TNA, eventually joining him in AEW.
During her time in AEW, Brandi served as the Chief Brand Officer and occasionally competed in the ring.
While Cody has returned to WWE after leaving AEW in 2022, Brandi has focused on her yoga and pilates studio, confirming her retirement from in-ring competition in a previous interview.
As Cody’s WrestleMania showdown approaches, the question remains whether Brandi will make a return to WWE.
