Starbreeze, the developer behind Payday 3, has initiated a comprehensive plan dubbed Operation Medic Bag to address the ongoing issues with the game. The first installment of this series of patches has been released today, introducing a range of fixes and enhancements aimed at rejuvenating the troubled title.
Among the highlights of today’s patch are the introduction of an ‘unready’ button, support for DirectX12, the addition of a new hardcore cook-off challenge, and various other improvements as detailed in the developer’s blog post.
The Operation Medic Bag initiative promises more updates in the pipeline, with upcoming patches set to include a solo mode, adjustments to the progression system, a revamped user interface, and the introduction of fresh content.
Soon, players will have the option to undertake heists independently, eliminating the need to connect to a server. However, before this mode is implemented, Starbreeze must enact two significant changes.
Firstly, an online connection will still be required to ensure progression is properly tracked, albeit without direct server interaction. Secondly, enhancements will be made to the solo mode to ensure seamless offline playability.
Starbreeze aims to accelerate the pace of updates as Operation Medic Bag progresses, with a commitment to ongoing improvement based on community feedback. Despite its efforts, the studio has acknowledged the challenges faced by Payday 3, with recent reports indicating sales and active player counts falling below expectations.
