Palworld, the highly anticipated open-world survival and crafting game often likened to ‘Pokémon with guns,’ is rapidly gaining popularity on Steam, but this surge in player numbers is causing strain on its servers.
As of the latest update, an impressive 352,361 potential Pal catchers are exploring the game’s vibrant, diverse, and slightly controversial universe. (It’s worth noting that players can apparently capture and trade humans in this game.)
The development team at Pocketpair, responsible for Palworld, acknowledges the overwhelming response from players and acknowledges the challenges their servers are facing in keeping up with the demand.
“We are amazed by the enthusiasm for Palworld, and we’re actively addressing the issues you’ve encountered,” stated the Palworld team.
“At present, our server provider has informed us that the servers are experiencing instability due to the high number of concurrent players, which may lead to difficulties in connecting to the servers.”
“In the meantime, some users have reported success by attempting to connect 2-3 times or waiting after launching the game,” Pocketpair added.
Chris Tapsell, one of our team members, attempted to access the game and encountered the message displayed below. This message appears during the creation of a multiplayer game, signaling the server-related challenges.
Meanwhile, Zoe has spent considerable time exploring Palworld, and her insights can be found in the accompanying video.
While Palworld is enjoying a strong debut on Steam, it’s important to note that these numbers only tell part of the story. The game has also launched today on Xbox Game Pass, introducing a whole new audience to the experience. The question remains: Will you be among those diving into Palworld via Xbox Game Pass?
