Nitro Games has secured €3.5 million in funding to advance its mobile adaptation of Warframe.
According to a report by Pocket Gamer, the Finnish free-to-play developer has extended its collaboration with Warframe creator Digital Extremes, following a previous investment of €1.2 million in August 2023.
The partnership between the two companies was initially established in July 2021, and the total funding for the project has now reached approximately €12.5 million.
The mobile iteration of Warframe is anticipated to be finalized within the current year.
In a statement, Nitro Games emphasized its strategic approach, stating, “This agreement aligns with Nitro Games’ strategy, where, in addition to developing games based on its own IP, the company also provides its services to selected clients.”
Digital Extremes, on the other hand, is directing its efforts towards the continued development and expansion of Warframe’s success, having shuttered its publishing division and undergone a series of layoffs the previous year.
