WWE President Nick Khan has addressed the concerning allegations against Vince McMahon, who stepped down from his role as CEO before Royal Rumble 2024.
Accusations of sex trafficking by former employee Janel Grant have cast a shadow over McMahon, with former Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis also implicated in the lawsuit.
In a recent interview on The Town with Matthew Belloni, Khan discussed the impact of these allegations on WWE’s future, particularly regarding their deal with Netflix for RAW starting in 2025.
Khan emphasized the seriousness of the allegations, stating that they played a significant role in McMahon’s departure from the company.
“The allegations are obviously horrific and serious. And we take them, and interpret them the same way any other reasonable person or organization would interpret them. You saw the quick resignation,”
Khan remarked.
Meanwhile, wrestling legend Rob Van Dam (RVD) shared his thoughts on the situation in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Bill Apter. Expressing his shock and dismay, RVD admitted feeling sickened by the allegations against McMahon, whom he regarded as a father figure.
“It’s kind of crazy, right? I’m really shocked and sickened by it. I respected the hell out of this guy, like he was like a father figure in a way to me,”
RVD expressed.
With Triple H taking over creative responsibilities for WWE, the product has been on fire leading up to WrestleMania 40 this weekend.
Despite the turmoil surrounding McMahon’s departure, anticipation for the event remains high as fans eagerly await the spectacle that awaits.
