During the recent controversy surrounding former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, Dutch Mantell, a former WWE manager, shared unsettling insights during his appearance on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Smack Talk. The controversy escalated after a lawsuit was filed by Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, accusing Vince McMahon of sex trafficking. Mantell shed light on his observations during his time with WWE, describing distressing encounters involving female employees leaving McMahon’s room visibly upset.
According to Mantell, he would witness female employees emerging from Vince McMahon’s private room in a state of distress, often crying. Despite not having explicit details, Mantell expressed concern for these individuals and recalled instances where he would approach them, offering support.
“These guys are horrible. I used to walk out in the hallway and I would see one of the girls walking down or going into her dressing room she looked upset and they would go on and start crying. Some of them I was close to, but not really close to, knew them more than the other ones.
I would say, ‘You ok?’ And they wouldn’t tell me. They would be crying and they had just come out of Vince’s private room. You don’t have to tell me what happened, I know what happened.”
Mantell went on to characterize Vince McMahon as a “psychopath” and detailed the relentless demands and behavior towards female employees. He described McMahon’s actions as incessant, occurring throughout the day and night. Additionally, Mantell highlighted instances where McMahon would seek access to the hotel rooms of female employees in the early hours of the morning.
“But she didn’t want to tell me and I didn’t really wanna hear it. But I have seen that numerous times. He rode those girls incessantly. I mean, it was all day long, all night. Then when he would get to the hotel, sometimes he would get them a room in his hotel and he’d be knocking at the door at 2 or 3 in the morning. He is legitimately a psychopath.”
While Vince McMahon’s camp has refuted the accusations, the controversy has led to McMahon resigning from his position on the TKO board. The allegations have cast a shadow on his legacy and raised serious questions about the workplace culture during his tenure at WWE.
