After grappling with Diverticulitis since December, Kenny Omega has been absent from AEW programming for several months.
However, fans of the former AEW and IWGP Champion can now rejoice, as “The Cleaner” is set to make a return to AEW television, if only for one night.
During Wednesday’s “Dynamite,” AEW revealed that Omega would be appearing in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada for the upcoming episode of “Dynamite” next week.
This marks Omega’s first appearance on AEW television since before AEW Worlds End.
Initially slated to team up with Chris Jericho to challenge Ricky Starks and Big Bill for the AEW World Tag Team Championship, Omega was forced to withdraw from the event due to a bout of diverticulitis. According to Omega, the illness posed a severe threat to his life.
Despite his absence from AEW programming, Omega has remained engaged with fans through his Twitch channel, where he streams games and shares stories.
Omega has described experiencing “good days” and “bad days” due to the illness, indicating that it is still uncertain whether he will require surgery for recovery.
Although Omega has noted a decrease in pain, he continues to struggle with training and enduring impacts on his abdomen, suggesting that a full recovery remains distant.
