In a groundbreaking achievement, BTS member J-Hope has once again made history on the U.S. Billboard 200 main albums chart with the debut of his latest album.
Titled “Hope on the Street Vol. 1,” the release, which came out on March 29, has claimed the prestigious fifth spot on the chart dated April 13, as confirmed by Billboard in a recent chart preview.
This remarkable feat marks a significant milestone in J-Hope’s solo career, surpassing his previous record set last year with the physical version of his inaugural solo album, “Jack in the Box,” which peaked at No. 6.
The Billboard 200, renowned for ranking the most popular albums of the week in the United States, measures success through equivalent album units, encompassing traditional album sales and various digital records.
“Hope on the Street Vol. 1” garnered an impressive 44,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., comprising 4,000 streaming equivalent album units and 2,000 track equivalent album units.
Celebrating this achievement, BigHit Music, J-Hope’s agency, proudly announced that he has become the sole K-pop soloist to achieve two consecutive top 10 placements on the Billboard 200.
Themed around J-Hope’s artistic roots in street dance, the album offers a look into the rapper-dancer’s identity and musical evolution. Its success extends beyond the U.S., as it previously secured the 38th position on the British Official Albums Top 100 chart, solidifying J-Hope’s global influence and acclaim.
