In recent times, WWE has seen a flurry of debuts and returns, with notable appearances like Jade Cargill’s debut at the 2024 Royal Rumble and the comebacks of CM Punk, Randy Orton, and Andrade.
However, amidst the excitement of arrivals and comebacks, there have been departures and setbacks. Some superstars have parted ways with WWE, while others have been sidelined due to injuries. Among the latter group is Robert Roode.
Since June 25th, 2022, Roode has been absent from WWE due to neck surgeries. Although he underwent successful procedures and resumed his role as a producer with the promotion, he has yet to return to in-ring action. This has sparked speculation about his future as an active wrestler.
In a recent interview, Roode disclosed that although he has been medically cleared to compete, he’s content with his role as a producer for now.

This suggests that fans may not see him back in the ring anytime soon. It remains to be seen how Roode’s journey unfolds within the company.
Before his injury, Roode enjoyed a respectable tenure in WWE and a successful career in professional wrestling overall. Many fans have expressed a desire to witness him bid farewell with a final match.
In the same interview, the 47-year-old wrestler reflected on the possibility of a farewell bout, acknowledging the universal desire among wrestlers for one last match. However, he also acknowledged the unpredictability of the sport and the challenges it presents:
“I think everybody would like to have one last match, right? But sometimes you just when the wheels fall off, the wheels fall off. It’s just that’s the nature of the beast in this sport.”
While the prospect of Roode not wrestling again may disappoint many fans, prioritizing health and well-being is paramount in the world of wrestling.
