In a Fatal Four-Way Match against Zayn, Chad Gable, and Finn Balor, Zayn emerged victorious, extending Gunther’s current losing streak to two matches. Taking to Twitter, Gunther pondered his next steps with a cryptic message: “Next destination?” he wrote.
Gunther’s reign as Intercontinental Champion was marked by successful title defenses against top competitors like Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, and Braun Strowman.
His last televised victory came against Jey Uso, aided by interference from Jimmy Uso.
Veteran commentator Jim Ross expressed interest in a potential feud between Gunther and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Speaking on the Grilling JR podcast, Ross praised Gunther’s skill and physicality, endorsing a matchup between the two stars.
