WWE’s Superstar Gunther recently issued a challenge to a ten-time champion for the upcoming Monday Night RAW, targeting none other than Jey Uso.
In the latest episode of the red brand, Gunther and his Imperium crew clashed with Jey Uso and The New Day. Despite a fierce battle, Gunther suffered defeat when Jey pinned Giovanni Vinci.
However, the aftermath revealed a new development as WWE announced that Jey Uso would vie for the Intercontinental Championship against Gunther next week.
Shortly after the show, WWE’s official X/Twitter handle shared an exclusive digital interview featuring Gunther. The Ring General expressed his anticipation for the upcoming showdown, emphasizing that Jey would be alone this time without any tag team partners. Gunther exuded confidence, stating that unlike Jey, he had forged his path to success independently.
“Next week, Jey Uso is challenging me for the Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship. It’s gonna be interesting because this time Jey cannot share the burden of being successful. Jey will fully rely on himself and he will face somebody that unlike him has achieved everything on his own. So I’m not worried at all,” Gunther confidently declared.

Despite Jey Uso’s numerous tag team triumphs in WWE, a singles title has remained elusive for him. Gunther acknowledged the teamwork displayed by The New Day and Jey Uso during their match, conceding that they were the superior team on that occasion.
“I think objectively we have to look at the rivalry with The New Day. Well, boys! I think this whole thing is a marathon, not a sprint. But honestly The New Day and Jey Uso, they both are two of the most successful tag team wrestlers in the history of this company and we lost to the better team today. That’s fine,” Gunther remarked.
With anticipation building among fans, many speculate whether Jey Uso will finally seize the opportunity to dethrone The Ring General on the upcoming Monday Night RAW. As WWE’s plans unfold, the future of the current Intercontinental Champion remains uncertain.
