A new demo for the action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink is now available for PlayStation 4 and 5 players.
This demo offers three different gameplay modes. In Story mode, players get a taste of the main storyline, while Quest mode features a selection of three quests, playable either alone or with up to three friends online.
Players can choose from 11 characters in Quest mode, and there’s also a Tutorial mode to learn the basic controls.
Playing through Story or Quest mode in the demo unlocks special rewards in the full game, provided the saved data is kept on your console. However, progress from the demo won’t carry over to the full game.
Cygames, the developer, has confirmed that there’s currently “no plans for a Steam version of the demo.” This means PC gamers will have to wait until the official release of Granblue Fantasy: Relink to try it out.
In a recent showcase, director Tetsuya Fukuhara shared that new content will be added to Relink a month after its launch. He emphasized, “Relink won’t be a live service game,” and described the release version as a “fully realized, complete package.” The first content update, a new quest, is planned for early March.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink, first announced in August 2016 and initially a collaboration with Bayonetta creator PlatinumGames, has faced several delays. After parting ways with PlatinumGames, the game is finally set to launch on February 1st.
