Just a little over thirteen months since its grand unveiling, Death Stranding 2 may be gearing up for another significant revelation, as suggested by a recent leak.
The leak, originating from the highly reliable source billbil-kun on Dealabs, asserts that more details about Hideo Kojima’s sequel, including its complete title, will be disclosed in the next few weeks.
According to billbil-kun, Death Stranding 2 is anticipated to make a fresh appearance within the next 15 days, with speculation pointing towards a possible reveal during an upcoming PlayStation’s State of Play event. This aligns with information shared earlier this year by the consistently accurate Jeff Grubb.
While billbil-kun continues to investigate certain aspects of Death Stranding 2’s release, such as the potential for a PC launch alongside PlayStation 5, their sources suggest that the full title of the game could be Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.
This subtitle resonates with the original Death Stranding’s theme, where beaches symbolize a limbo between life and the afterlife.
The last glimpse of Death Stranding 2 occurred during its official unveiling at The Game Awards in December 2022, featuring a four-minute teaser trailer confirming the prominent role of French actor Léa Seydoux.
Despite the star-studded cast, including Norman Reedus, Troy Baker, Elle Fanning, and Shioli Kutsuna, little else is known about the game, making a comprehensive reveal long overdue, especially considering the possibility of a release later this year.
In related Death Stranding news, publisher 505 Games has announced the launch date for the delayed iPhone, iPad, and Mac release of the first game’s Director’s Cut edition.
Set to release next Tuesday, 30th January, the edition is priced at £39.99/$39.99 USD, with a 50 percent discount available for pre-orders via the App Store. A single purchase enables gameplay across all three devices, requiring an iPhone 15 Pro or M-series Mac or iPad to run the game.
