Following their departure from Rocksteady during the development of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker, the studio’s founders, have seemingly established a new company named Hundred Star Games.
The newly launched Hundred Star Games has an official website, albeit one that lacks comprehensive details. Information obtained by Polygon from a reader tip reveals that Hill and Walker officially incorporated the studio in February 2023, according to data from corporate data site Endole.
The primary source of concrete information about Hundred Star Games is its Great Place To Work profile, which outlines the studio’s objective of creating a small team consisting of only 100 industry veterans and emerging talents. This team is dedicated to crafting cutting-edge gaming experiences that inspire and captivate players worldwide.
Hill and Walker exited Rocksteady Studios at the end of 2022, shortly before the anticipated launch of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The game faced a significant delay due to widespread disappointment over its reveal as a live service looter shooter. At the time of their departure, Hill and Walker mentioned that they were leaving to “begin a new adventure in gaming.”
Rocksteady Studios, founded by Walker and Hill after leaving Argonaut Games in 2004, gained recognition with its breakout hit, Batman: Arkham Asylum, in 2009. This unexpected success marked the beginning of one of the most beloved gaming series.
While Rocksteady is departing from the single-player focus of the Arkham series with Suicide Squad, the nature of Hundred Star Games’ current project remains undisclosed. Fans are hopeful that both studios can recapture the magic of their past successes.
