Former WWE Writer, Vince Russo, Shares Concerns Over John Cena and Randy Orton’s Responses to Vince McMahon Controversy
Recent comments made by John Cena and Randy Orton on the Vince McMahon controversy have sparked discussions, and former WWE writer Vince Russo has now shared his perspective on the matter.
On Sportskeeda’s Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo expressed his concern about the impact the allegations are having on major WWE superstars. He particularly emphasized the disappointment felt when someone looked up to, like a father figure, is involved in such controversies.
“A real father figure, a real father is not gonna let you down bro. A real father is not going to let you down,”
Russo remarked during the discussion [12:47 onwards]. He conveyed a sense of empathy for Cena and Orton, acknowledging that if the allegations were true, it would be heartbreaking for them.
“If any of these allegations are true and it comes out, I swear to god bro, I feel bad for guys like Cena and Orton. My god bro… It breaks my heart when you think a guy, when you think somebody you look up to is one way and all of a sudden, and all of a sudden… My god bro, that sucks,” Russo added [14:25 onwards].
Russo also shared his belief that determining the truth behind the allegations against Vince McMahon won’t take long. Referring to the screenshots shared by Janel Grant, he mentioned that if the text messages are untrue, it would be evident from the phone records.
“If she’s putting these text messages out there and they’re not true, I can’t see anybody doing that because they’re going to get those phone records, and they will be able to pull up every freaking text off his phone” [6:06 – 6:22],
Russo stated during another episode of The Wrestling Outlaws.
The unfolding situation raises questions about the potential impact on WWE’s major figures and the industry as a whole, with Russo hoping that the truth will be revealed as the case progresses in the coming weeks.
