Kevin Owens has left an indelible mark on WWE with his involvement in numerous unforgettable moments. Recently, a former WWE Superstar reminisced about a particular instance from their shared history that captured the attention of fans worldwide back in 2018.
The Prizefighter has engaged in battles against some of the biggest names in sports entertainment, showcasing his versatility and talent within the squared circle.
In 2018, Owens teamed up with former WWE Superstar Elias as part of their heel personas.
During a recent interview with Jamal Niaz of the For the Love of Wrestling podcast, the former 24/7 Champion reflected on a memorable segment from their rivalry that took place on RAW in late September 2018 in Seattle.
Elias fondly recalled the electric atmosphere in Seattle as he and KO incited a passionate response from the crowd by mocking the city’s loss of its NBA team, the Supersonics, to Oklahoma City in 2008.
“Seattle, obviously it stands out, they booed forever, and loud and violently,” Elias chuckled. “But that had been building for months and months and months as like: the crowds are getting louder, the crowds and getting more and more, and now they know what I do; I pull them in and then I slag ’em off.”
He emphasized the significance of that moment as a culmination of their efforts to elicit a reaction from the audience, labeling it as a standout memory in their careers as top heels in WWE.
“Seattle was like this culmination of: wow, we know it’s coming and when he hits us, we’re gonna give it to him,” Elias said. “It was a really memorable moment, of course it went viral, people bring it up all the time, but yeah that was just one night in a slew of tons and tons of nights of doing that. It was really fun.”
