Former WWE standout Matt Riddle recently delved into his camaraderie with fellow wrestlers such as Austin Theory and The Judgment Day, shedding light on his experiences within the industry.
Riddle, known as The Original Bro, had a notable tenure with WWE until his departure in September 2023. He reminisced about his time as a prominent babyface, particularly during his partnership with Randy Orton in the popular duo RK-Bro.
In a candid chat with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, Riddle revealed his close bond with The Judgment Day members and his friendship with Austin Theory, often sharing travel experiences with them.
“I was great friends with The Judgment Day. Huge pal of Austin Theory. I had my buddies, people I’d ride with, travel with. But I’d say I got along with pretty much everyone. Even those who might not have been fond of me or vice versa, we kept it amicable.”
Addressing misconceptions about his rapport in the wrestling world, Riddle clarified that despite occasional conflicts, he wasn’t universally disliked.
He acknowledged instances where tensions arose due to his ex-partner’s social media comments, but overall, he maintained positive relations.
“The only friction arose when my ex made remarks about their partners or such. But when it was between me and everyone else, I think there’s a misconception. People assume many in wrestling despise me. Truth is, I walk into any locker room, and people are generally friendly. Or, at least, they’re cordial to my face.”
Austin Theory’s recent encounter at Elimination Chamber witnessed an unexpected turn of events. While initiating The Grayson Waller Effect, Theory faced an onslaught, culminating in a brutal assault from Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
Even his ally, Grayson Waller, refrained from intervening, prompting speculation about potential fallout between the two.
The aftermath of Theory’s ordeal leaves fans intrigued about the dynamics within The Grayson Waller Effect and its future implications.
