Jonathan Coachman, a wrestling veteran, recently weighed in on Ronda Rousey’s comments regarding WWE’s alleged favoritism towards Logan Paul. Rousey, a former UFC star, had voiced her concerns about the unequal treatment received by certain WWE talents.
Coachman, known for his tenure in WWE, expressed his frustration with Rousey’s remarks, stating that he had not witnessed her dedication during his time in the company.
He emphasized that instead of blaming external factors, wrestlers should take responsibility for their performances and put in the necessary effort to excel in the industry.
“Seeing all of these quotes and the way that it seems like to me, she hasn’t taken ownership of anything during her time in the WWE. And that’s a little bit frustrating because I didn’t see her one time when I was there, not once, walk out to the ring, work out during the day, put in the time when she had all the time in the world. So, I don’t buy the passing the buck, do you?” Coachman remarked during the podcast.
He also referenced Becky Lynch’s previous comments about Rousey’s wrestling abilities, indicating that several top wrestlers shared similar sentiments. Despite Rousey’s achievements in MMA, Coachman suggested that her transition to professional wrestling required a different level of commitment and dedication.
Furthermore, Logan Paul, WWE United States Champion, responded to Rousey’s criticism during an interview on his brother’s podcast.
Paul expressed respect for Rousey’s accomplishments in MMA but clarified that he did not perceive her comments as a personal attack.
“I don’t think it’s like a personal attack on me by any means. I don’t feel she’s coming after me. I feel she’s maybe using me as an example to express her dissatisfaction with how she was treated in the WWE,” Paul stated, addressing Rousey’s remarks.
While acknowledging Rousey’s concerns, Paul highlighted WWE’s recognition of his efforts to deliver quality performances and matches. He emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication in achieving success within the wrestling industry.
