Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently shared his insights on how The Rock’s return will impact SmackDown ratings.
The Brahma Bull made a highly anticipated comeback to the blue brand, delivering an electrifying performance.
After addressing the live audience with some strong words, he shifted his focus to Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, engaging in a verbal onslaught and challenging them to a match at WrestleMania XL Night One.
On the latest episode of Smack Talk, Mantell discussed The Rock’s strategic approach, stating that the iconic wrestler is setting the stage for compelling shows leading up to WrestleMania. Mantell predicted a surge in ratings, foreseeing an upward trend in the next two episodes:
“[The Rock’s] gonna have to do something to really turn them, and he will. This is a work in progress. What he did tonight is he just laid the steps down for the next two weeks at least. So I think whatever rating that SmackDown got tonight, it will get bigger the next week as we lead towards WrestleMania.” [From 08:57 to 09:24]
Mantell also highlighted that The Rock is slated to appear in the following two episodes of SmackDown, anticipating sold-out shows in Dallas and Memphis.
The impending appearances of Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on the blue brand add another layer of intrigue to the ongoing narrative.
The Rock’s presence seems to be paving the way for significant developments in WWE, particularly as the company gears up for WrestleMania season.
