Former three-time WWE Champion and seasoned superstar, Sheamus, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a cryptic message with fans.
Sheamus’s last WWE match dates back to August 2023, where he faced Edge. Since then, the Irish powerhouse has been on the sidelines, nursing an injury.
On X, Sheamus posted a video capturing the poignant moment of him showing respect to the WWE Universe and exiting the ring following his clash against Gunther at Clash at the Castle 2022.
At Clash at the Castle, Sheamus fell short in his bid to unseat Gunther and capture the Intercontinental Championship, the only title missing from his illustrious WWE career.

Reflecting on his feelings post-Clash at the Castle, Sheamus expressed dissatisfaction with WWE’s handling of his momentum following his intense match with Gunther. In an interview with the Daily Star, The Celtic Warrior voiced his frustrations:
“What I was upset about and what really bothered me was the creative after that. I came out of that with so much organic momentum, and it was just wasted. It didn’t go anywhere.”
Sheamus elaborated further:
“It was a dead end, just like with WrestleMania. Drew went away because he was injured, but I was ready to go and then just nothing. There were no avenues and nowhere to go and that’s frustrating. I did the War Games thing [after Clash at the Castle] but that was s*** – that’s how I felt, though others might have felt differently.”
The duration of Sheamus’s hiatus from WWE action remains uncertain, leaving fans curious about his eventual return.
