Tonight, WWE NXT is gearing up to present the fallout from Spring Breakin’ 2024, and fans are in for a treat. Not only will the episode feature a packed match card, but it will also mark a new chapter in the career of veteran star Shawn Spears. According to recent reports, Spears has taken on a new role behind the scenes, working as a co-producer for two matches scheduled for the Level Up tapings.
Spears, who finished his five-year run with AEW in December, returned to World Wrestling Entertainment in February for his third stint with the company. Since his return, he has racked up three wins and six losses, including a high-profile defeat to Joe Gacy at NXT Stand & Deliver 2024. However, it seems that Spears’ focus is shifting from in-ring competition to behind-the-scenes work.
Spoilers for tonight’s episode reveal that Spears will be working alongside other producers, including Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan, Wesley Blake, Fit Finlay, Steve Corino, Terry Taylor, AJ Winkler, Matt Bloom, Norman Smiley, Johnny Moss, Robbie Brookside, and Shawn Michaels. This move is seen as a testament to the company’s faith in Spears’ abilities, and it will be interesting to see how he fares in his new role.
As for the match card, fans can look forward to a loaded episode featuring a Women’s Combine, which will see the top 12 performers advance to qualifying matches to determine the inaugural Women’s North American Champion.
