Rumors are swirling in the professional wrestling world as a former All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star, Jose the Assistant, has seemingly hinted at a potential jump to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). The news comes ahead of tonight’s edition of SmackDown, which will feature a highly anticipated contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul ahead of their match at King and Queen of the Ring.
Jose the Assistant, who was aligned with Andrade in AEW before the former NXT Champion departed the company following World’s End 2023, took to his official X account (formerly Twitter) to share an intriguing image. The veteran posted a picture of a box of C4 Energy with WWE’s logo on it, sparking speculation that he may be on his way to the Stamford-based company.
This development comes on the heels of Andrade’s return to WWE during the Men’s Royal Rumble match in January. Andrade, who is married to Charlotte Flair, is now aligned with the Latino World Order and recently teamed up with Rey Mysterio to defeat Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania XL.
EC3, the current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, recently weighed in on Andrade’s decision to leave AEW, stating that it was likely due to his wife being in WWE and the company providing a more comfortable environment for the veteran. Speaking on Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Outlaws show, EC3 noted that Andrade’s departure was likely influenced by his desire to be reunited with his wife.
For Jose the Assistant, a move to WWE would not be his first stint with the company. He has appeared on WWE television in the past, losing to Brodus Clay on the August 16, 2011 edition of Superstars and later falling to Ryback in a Handicap match on RAW in 2012.
As the wrestling world eagerly awaits tonight’s SmackDown, the possibility of Jose the Assistant joining WWE has sent shockwaves through the industry. Will he make the jump to the Stamford-based promotion? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain – the rumors are sure to generate a lot of buzz in the coming days.
