Developer Far From Home has unveiled an exciting collaboration with Sony to bring Forever Skies to console platforms in 2024. This partnership encompasses both developmental assistance and financial backing.
Andrzej Blumenfeld, the gameplay lead, explained, “When we’re prepared to launch the full game following PC Early Access, we’ll be debuting it on PlayStation 5 for consoles.” He reassured fans, emphasizing that this decision wouldn’t impede the ongoing development or release schedule of the Steam version, slated for simultaneous release.
While Forever Skies currently resides in early access on PC, the association with Sony will have no bearing on its progress. Once the early access phase concludes, it will mark its console premiere on PlayStation 5. Additionally, the finalized edition of Forever Skies will offer support for both single-player and cooperative play for up to four participants.
Initially slated for release on Xbox Series X|S in 2022, the Xbox version now appears to be scheduled for a later release following the PlayStation 5 debut.
During a recent earnings call, Sony announced its intention to defer the release of first-party games from major franchises until at least April 2025. In the interim, it seems that third-party console timed exclusives like Forever Skies will help bridge the gap in the gaming lineup.
