WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long recently shared his perspective on how he would approach a potential encounter with Vince McMahon amidst the legal challenges the former CEO and Chairman is facing.
Since January, Vince McMahon has been embroiled in legal troubles following a lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant, accusing him of sexual abuse and coercion. The wrestling community was stunned by the explicit details presented in the 67-page lawsuit.
Speaking on Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Teddy Long expressed that if he were to meet Vince McMahon, he wouldn’t broach the sensitive topic.
Long emphasized that it’s not his place to inquire about the situation and, instead, he would opt for a warm conversation.
“I wouldn’t even bring that up. I would just speak to him and maybe give him a big hug, see how he looks, and compliment him on how he looks. You know, let’s sit down, let’s talk. I wouldn’t even bring that up because I don’t think I’m at liberty to do that. I don’t think that would be my position to move right into Vince if I met him and say, ‘Hey man, what’s going on with all that stuff?’ That ain’t my spot. So, I wouldn’t even bring it up.”
Long’s perspective suggests a desire for a more personal and supportive approach rather than delving into the legal matters.
The wrestling world has been closely following McMahon’s response to the allegations, with his resignation from the TKO Board and a public statement vehemently denying the accusations while expressing his commitment to fight back.
The question looms over whether Vince McMahon will make a return to WWE TV.
As the legal proceedings unfold, the future remains uncertain, leaving fans to ponder if the influential figure will grace the wrestling screens again. Share your thoughts on the possibility in the comments section.
