Former NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose recently addressed WWE’s omission of her title reign during a promo highlighting former champions, sparking a discussion about her future in wrestling.
Rose’s return to NXT in mid-2021 marked a significant shift after her tenure on the main roster.
Her reign as the NXT Women’s Champion lasted an impressive 413 days before she relinquished the title to Roxanne Perez ahead of her release from WWE in December 2022.
In response to being left out of a promo mentioning former NXT Women’s Champions, Rose shared her thoughts on her Power Alphas podcast. Expressing mixed emotions, she stated:
“I did see a lot of comments. I wasn’t really gonna respond ’cause I know how that happens. You know, if I respond, it starts to get crazy. But I did respond to one comment and all I said was: ‘Yes, disappointing but not really surprised or not really not surprising.’ And some people, you know, kinda went off on that and had their opinions and whatnot.”
Going deeper into WWE’s decision, Rose speculated on the reasons behind her exclusion:
“I wrote that comment because I thought it was disappointing just because of all the hard work. Why can’t someone still be recognized even if they’re not in the company? I know Saraya wasn’t recognized and Mercedes Mone wasn’t recognized and they’re in AEW so I kinda get that conflict of interest in a way. But like I’m not in a wrestling federation right now. So, I don’t know.”
Despite her departure from WWE, Rose hasn’t ruled out a potential return to the ring. In an interview with Jamal Niaz of For The Love of Wrestling, she opened up about the possibility:
“Days like today, I will say, there was a part of me when I was sitting in the ring, doing the Q&A, and all the fans were there. I do miss it, I will say. I said in an interview not too long ago I didn’t really have the itch. I don’t know if I have the itch to go back and wrestle full-time right now. However, I do miss the fans.”
While Rose acknowledges the allure of returning to WWE and the ring, her future remains uncertain. As several former WWE Superstars have made comebacks in recent years, fans eagerly await to see if Rose will follow suit and resume her wrestling journey.
