Ed Sheeran is preparing to commemorate the milestone anniversary of his second studio album, x. However, before the album achieved massive success, Sheeran encountered a challenging phase that nearly disrupted the production process.
During an interview with Billboard at the 2024 Blue Diamond Gala on Thursday, May 2, the Shape of You star candidly discussed the track that posed the most difficulty during production, which ironically turned out to be one of the album’s greatest hits.
“I remember ‘Photograph’ taking a really long time to get production right. It took a long while,” Sheeran recalled.
“That was the song that I didn’t really like at first because we spent so much time doing it and it ruined it,” he explained.
“Now, I can look back and enjoy the process,”
Sheeran shared, highlighting his personal growth and evolving perspective.
Alongside reflecting on past challenges, Sheeran has exciting plans for the album’s anniversary.
He is gearing up to release an expanded version of x, titled x (10th Anniversary Edition), on June 21.
This special edition will boast nine bonus tracks, all previously unreleased on vinyl, amplifying the excitement surrounding its release.
