WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre has reignited his feud with CM Punk, taking a jab at Punk’s tricep injury from earlier this year. McIntyre, who lost his World Heavyweight Championship to Punk at WrestleMania XL, shared a video on social media appearing to be lost in WWE HQ, only to reveal he was joking by opening an exit door and stating, “All it took was some tricep strength.” This was a clear reference to Punk’s injury, which he sustained during his return match at the Royal Rumble.
Although Punk is currently unable to compete in the ring, he has kept busy with commentary duties and continued to troll McIntyre during shows. Meanwhile, McIntyre has secured a title match against Damian Priest for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the Clash at the Castle PLE in Glasgow, Scotland. McIntyre has even offered Punk a title shot at SummerSlam if he wins, but the road to victory won’t be easy for the Scottish Psychopath.
On the June 3 episode of Monday Night RAW, McIntyre confronted Priest during a backstage interview, promising to take his championship in less than two weeks. McIntyre later ambushed Priest after his match with Rey Mysterio, but was then attacked by The Judgment Day, a heel faction that already neutralized former world champion Braun Strowman earlier that night.
Despite the setbacks, McIntyre remains focused on conquering The Judgment Day at Clash at the Castle. With the home-field advantage in Scotland, McIntyre is determined to reclaim the championship and potentially face Punk at SummerSlam.
