Drew McIntyre, set to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL, delved into the recent controversial promo that unfolded on WWE RAW this past Monday night.
The Scottish Warrior’s interruption of CM Punk during the veteran’s return stirred the wrestling world, especially given Punk’s absence from WrestleMania due to injury.
Despite Punk’s in-ring hiatus, the 45-year-old will serve as guest commentator for the championship match at the event.
In an interview with Torg & Elliott, McIntyre shed light on the promo, emphasizing its mostly unscripted nature, with just an outline guiding the exchange between the talented individuals involved.
“The whole dynamic, though intense, was largely unscripted. We’re three individuals who may have personal feelings, but ultimately, we’re professionals doing what we do best – tearing into each other verbally without relying heavily on scripted lines,”
McIntyre disclosed.
In a separate development, former WWE Superstar Chis Adonis (formerly Chris Masters) expressed remorse over not being able to share the ring with McIntyre in recent times. Reflecting on their past matches, Adonis conveyed his disappointment at missing out on potential showdowns with the current RAW star.
“I reminisce about the matches we had a decade ago. Not being able to step into the ring with Drew today is disheartening for me,”
Adonis lamented during an exclusive interview with Wrestling’s Riju Dasgupta.
Amidst these reflections, it’s worth noting that McIntyre, despite his impressive career trajectory, has yet to clinch a major title in front of live audiences, with both of his WWE Championship reigns occurring amidst the pandemic.
As anticipation mounts for WrestleMania XL, where McIntyre aims to challenge Seth Rollins for supremacy, fans eagerly await the outcome of this monumental clash on the grand stage.
