In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, a myriad of creatures awaits discovery, ranging from the adorable to the bizarre. Among these, some strike a perfect balance between charm and peculiarity. Here, we present our comprehensive guide to Moogle Shops and Mogstools in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, assisting you in your quest to locate these mischievous yet endearing fluffballs.
To access Moogle Shops, you must first complete the Moogle Mischief minigame, which involves capturing the five roaming Moogles in each Mogstool realm or play area.
Mogstools are colossal mushroom homes marked by a distinctive Moogle icon on your map. They are typically situated in easily accessible areas. For your convenience, we provide maps detailing their locations in various regions.
Mogstool locations include the Grasslands, Junon, North Corel (Costa del Sol), and South Corel (Corel Desert) regions. Similarly, you can find Moogles in Gongaga, Cosmo Canyon, and Nibel.
To successfully capture Moogles, you must be mindful of their unique abilities and attacks, as well as the number of times you can sustain hits. Each Moogle possesses a distinct attack:
- Moog (grey): Throws bombs that detonate after a brief delay.
- Mokey (yellow): Hurls banana peels that induce slipping and falling.
- Mosh (green): Projects crescent-shaped wind projectiles.
- Molala (red): Releases orbs that traverse outward.
- Molulu (blue): Summons fireworks targeting specific ground spots.
Among these, Mosh and Molala pose the greatest threat due to their rapid spellcasting. Difficulty varies:
Normal mode: Initially, you can withstand two hits. A third hit necessitates a retry.
Easy mode: After multiple retries within a single challenge, you unlock easy mode, allowing up to five hits before failure.
Challenges in Grasslands, Junon, and both Corel regions are relatively manageable, but difficulty escalates from Gongaga onward, with faster and more numerous projectile attacks and obstructive obstacles.
When pursuing Moogles, your primary objective is to guide them to the central tree in the area. Rushing towards them causes them to flee in the opposite direction, necessitating a strategic approach.
Some arenas feature tornadoes or floor panels triggering tornadoes. Manipulate these elements to stun Moogles temporarily, facilitating capture by holding the L2 button. However, Moogles breaks free after a brief period.
Completing challenges unlocks additional items in Moogle Shops, including consumables, accessories, and Folios. Folios grant skill points (SP) for specific characters, enabling the unlocking of additional Limit Breaks and Synergy Abilities.
Moogle Shop items require Moogle Medals, a special currency obtainable through:
Remnawave Crates: Breakable crates in Remnawave Towers often contain Moogle Medals.
Chocobo Digging: While exploring, your Chocobo mount may uncover buried items, occasionally yielding Moogle Medals.
Retry Moogle Mischief: Reattempting Moogle Mischief challenges rewards Moogle Medals.
Upon discovering all seven Mogstools and associated Moogle Shops, a special reward awaits: the Stuffed Moogle. This collectible item triggers a unique cutscene and can be showcased.
