Days of the Devs has recently declared its status as an independent nonprofit organization, marking a significant shift in its operational structure. Alongside this announcement, the organization has initiated its inaugural fundraising campaign, with the primary objective of securing funds for venue fees, equipment, staffing, and video production.
In a strategic move towards enhanced financial transparency and accessibility, Day of the Devs has established a fiscal sponsorship arrangement with Legacy Global. This collaboration aims to provide a clear and public view of the organization’s funding activities.
Tim Schafer, co-founder of Day of the Devs, expressed enthusiasm about this new phase, stating, “It’s a whole new day for Day of the Devs. It’s extremely gratifying to see this show become as fully independent as the amazing indie games it has always centered around.”
Originating in 2012 through the joint efforts of Double Fine Productions and iam8bit, Days of the Devs was conceived with the mission to spotlight emerging and overlooked talent within the gaming industry. The recent developments underscore the organization’s commitment to fostering indie game developers and creating a platform that is both sustainable and supportive.
