In a recent revelation, Cody Rhodes opened up about a harrowing incident that occurred just days before WrestleMania XL.
His tour bus caught fire, but fortunately, no one was injured. Despite the scare, Cody managed to rescue cherished items like a family photo and his WrestleMania shoes.
Speaking on the SI Media Podcast, Cody shed light on the situation, emphasizing the quick action taken by WWE staff.
They swiftly moved The Miz’s bus away to prevent the fire from spreading, demonstrating their concern for everyone’s safety.
“The scariest part for me was when they started backing up the Miz’s bus… I thought, ‘How is this happening a few days before WrestleMania?’ Then the fire department arrived and saved it too. That bus will eventually roll again but it had a big hole in it.” [47:25-47:53]
Cody’s WrestleMania XL Experience
Despite the pre-WrestleMania chaos, Cody Rhodes delivered an unforgettable performance at the event. He participated in two high-profile matches. Alongside Seth Rollins, he faced The Rock and Roman Reigns on Night One but fell short of victory.
However, Rhodes bounced back on Night Two, defeating Reigns to clinch the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, marking the end of Reigns’ dominant title reign.
As for The Miz, he had his own WrestleMania triumph. Competing in a Six-Pack Tag Team Ladder match, The A-Lister, alongside R-Truth, secured the RAW Tag Team titles, adding another accolade to his impressive career.
