Cara Delevingne is deeply saddened by the devastating fire that ravaged her $7 million Los Angeles mansion in the early hours of Friday morning.
“I think she’s probably devastated,”
her mother, Pandora Delevingne, expressed to a photographer in a video obtained by TMZ on Friday night.
“She had everything in her home. Her whole life,”
Pandora continued, standing alongside her husband, Charles, as they queued to see Cara perform in “Cabaret” at London’s Playhouse Theatre.
Meanwhile, Charles mentioned that the fire at her house was ignited after “something fell on” a powerline, suggesting it was likely an electrical mishap.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department informed Page Six that they received a distress call around 3:57 a.m. local time, after which a “heavy fire” was discovered.
The fire originated near the rear of the property and engulfed a room, resulting in the collapse of the entire home’s roof. Firefighters battled the blaze for over two hours, with 94 responders mobilized to extinguish it.
Simultaneously, a representative for the Los Angeles Police Department stated they were alerted to the fire at 4:29 a.m., emphasizing that no evacuations were necessary.
While an official cause for the fire has not yet been determined, the LAFD informed Page Six that there is “nothing to suggest that it was criminal activity.”
The LAPD echoed this sentiment, stating, “There is no indication of an arson or criminal investigation right now.”
Cara addressed the heartbreaking incident on her Instagram Story earlier on Friday.
“My heart is broken today… I cannot believe it,” she shared. “Life can change in the blink of an eye. So cherish what you have.”
She initially caused concern by posting her message alongside a picture of her two cats, but later clarified that they were unharmed.
