Cameron Grimes’ sudden exit from WWE just before the annual Draft sparked conversations across the wrestling community. ECW icon Tommy Dreamer recently shared his insights on the young talent’s departure.
Having dedicated years to WWE’s developmental brand, Cameron Grimes showcased his potential to become a top-tier WWE Superstar.
With notable achievements like holding the NXT North American Championship and engaging in feuds with talents like Carmelo Hayes and Bron Breakker, Grimes proved his worth.
On Busted Open Radio, wrestling veteran Tommy Dreamer reflected on Grimes’ final tenure with WWE, suggesting that the star may not have received a fair opportunity on the main roster.
“I mean, I don’t know how it falls through. If you look at him, he’s not overly muscular… they only gave him a certain short mic time and no storyline when they called him up,”
Dreamer remarked, sharing his perspective on Grimes’ transition to the main roster.
Dreamer also referenced the experiences of Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn, two NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions who struggled to find their footing after being called up to the main roster.
Following Grimes’ release, various wrestling personalities, including current WWE United States Champion Logan Paul, reached out to express their support. Grimes had reportedly assisted Paul in training for a match against Kevin Owens earlier in the year.
“Nooooooo!” exclaimed Paul upon learning of Grimes’ departure.
As speculation swirls regarding Grimes’ next steps, fans eagerly await to see where his talents take him next in the wrestling world.
