Renowned for his technical prowess, Bryan Danielson has been showcasing his full range of skills since he arrived in AEW, a canvas he didn’t fully explore during his WWE tenure.
Now, the 42-year-old wrestling sensation is advocating for another top talent, Kazuchika Okada, to opt for AEW over WWE.
With Okada’s NJPW contract ending in January 2024, speculation about his next destination has been rife, with reports suggesting negotiations with both AEW and WWE. While no official announcement has been made yet, recent murmurs hint at Okada’s potential move to AEW.
In a candid interview with Tokyo Sports, Bryan Danielson shared his thoughts on where Okada should sign, expressing a preference for AEW over WWE.
Danielson believes that AEW is the better fit for Okada, as he fears WWE might assign him to NXT to adapt to the American wrestling style, a path taken by Shinsuke Nakamura:
“Of course I want him to come to AEW. Fans all over the world know how great Okada is. Both WWE and AEW are major players, but I hope he comes to AEW. If he went to WWE, they might have him start with (third brand) NXT like Shinsuke (Nakamura) to adapt to the American style, but it’s already completed. Okada doesn’t need that. He’s one of the best wrestlers in the world right now, so he should just come to the United States without changing anything,” Danielson remarked.
Danielson’s upcoming bout with Eddie Kingston at Revolution has sparked anticipation among fans, with the two wrestlers engaged in a heated rivalry.
The match, confirmed by AEW for the Continental Crown Championship, has Eddie Kingston expressing his desire for a handshake from Danielson should he emerge victorious.
As the wrestling world awaits Kazuchika Okada’s decision, the prospect of his potential landing spot continues to stir excitement and speculation.
