Braun Strowman, the former Universal Champion, has recently spoken about a conversation he had with WWE Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin during his hiatus from the ring.
The Monster of All Monsters was out of action for nearly a year due to a severe neck injury that required fusion surgery. In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Strowman revealed that he reached out to Austin, who suffered a similar injury over two decades ago, seeking guidance and advice.
Strowman’s injury was diagnosed as stenosis of the spine, a condition where the spinal column is tightened, leaving only 9 millimeters of clearance between his C4 and C5 vertebrae.
The former champion explained that he didn’t know the extent of his injury until he got hit wrong during a match, which caused his head to whip back and further exacerbate the condition. It was then that he turned to Austin, who had experienced a similar injury when he received a Piledriver during a match.
Austin’s injury had left him paralyzed from the neck down for 30 seconds, and Strowman sought comfort in knowing that someone who had gone through a similar ordeal could offer words of encouragement.
“So having him talk to me and kind of almost giving me the proverbial it’s gonna be okay, it was a very big breath of fresh air,”
Strowman said. He praised WWE for taking excellent care of their talent, ensuring that they receive the best medical attention possible.
Strowman’s return to the ring was nothing short of spectacular, as he made a surprise appearance on Monday Night RAW, saving Jey Uso from a brawl with Logan Paul and The Judgment Day.
The crowd erupted as he delivered a chokeslam to Finn Balor and sent a clear message to the United States Champion. As he confronted Patrick Mahomes in the crowd, Jey Uso intervened, preventing any further chaos.
The return of Braun Strowman has sent shockwaves throughout the WWE universe, and fans are eagerly waiting to see what’s next for The Monster of All Monsters. With his renewed confidence and determination, it will be exciting to see how he navigates the WWE terrain and takes on new challenges.
