The actress candidly shared that she had wasted too much money and now after some issues, she and her family are more or less stable. This statement was followed by a video clip showing her in her car, parked at her school in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul at 6:30 a.m. She appeared with a puffy face, showcasing her natural look in the chilly December weather.
Introducing herself, Goo Hye-sun said she has not acted for 7 years. She first entered Seoul Institute of the Arts in 2003 but dropped out after six months. After working hard to make a living and being absent from school for nearly 10 years, she desired to return to school and was accepted to the Department of Imaging at Sungkyunkwan University in 2011. she studied there for 4 years. she is now 40 and 20 years older than the freshmen.
Explaining why she lived in her car, the actress stated, that she doesn’t have any place to live. Her mother’s house is in Incheon and she keeps going back and forth from there. On exams and important days, she stays in my own car or sleeps in the library. Going from Incheon to school takes 3-4 hours so she has to leave home at 6:30 a.m. for classes that start at 9 a.m.

Goo Hye-sun pointed out the inefficiency of living in dorms or gosiwon (study rooms), saying that she used to live in a gosiwon in front of the school but her contract ended last semester. There was no place that would sign a three-month contract with her. She thought that since she was already there, why not try to be the No.1 in studying? She doesn’t accept things like being late or absent so she always arrives at school 2-3 hours early. Her car was equipped with a sleeping mat and essentials for daily life. She revealed her routine of using wet tissues to wash her face, eating cup noodles, instant rice, and snacks in the car, and taking baths in the school’s bathroom.

Goo Hye-sun’s dedication paid off, as she showed off her nearly perfect scores and received recognition from her professors. Despite her success in film, she was determined to complete her studies, a dream cherished by her family. In February, she proudly graduated, ranking in the top 5% of her department. She then stunned her family with an announcement: She might not be able to work a lot and that she now wants to pursue a doctor’s degree and it will take 7-8 years. Once she gets the degree, she might do something different from what she’s doing right now.
