A new trailer for Blue Lock Season 2 has been released, and it reveals that the upcoming season will escalate the series’ intensity. The trailer provides a brief overview of the Third Selection process, where the Blue Lock team was tested to determine the top 11 players to compete against U-20 Japan. Sae Itoshi will lead the team, with Ryusei Shidou joining him, indicating a high level of competition and anticipation for the new season.
The second season adapts the next significant arc from Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura’s manga, focusing on Blue Lock’s match against U-20 Japan. This crucial game will determine which team will gain control over the Japan National Team. Unlike the first season, which had 24 episodes, Season 2 will consist of 14 episodes, suggesting a more concentrated but intense narrative.
The voice cast for the new season includes Kazuki Ura as Yoichi Isagi, Koki Uchiyama as Rin Itoshi, Tasuku Kaito as Megura Bachira, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Seishiro Nagi, Yuichi Nakamura as Ryusei Shidou, and Hiroshi Kamiya as Jinpachi Ego.
The anime is produced by Eight Bit and directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe. It originally aired from October 2022 to March 2023, with a film adaptation of the Episode Nagi manga released in April 2024 and shown in North America in June 2024.
