In just over a week since the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, BioWare has started sharing player statistics focused on popular gameplay choices, including the most chosen class and faction, deadliest quest, most popular enemy, and a few other points of interest.
These early stats offer an overview of how players are engaging with the game, and BioWare has hinted that more detailed insights will be shared in the future to track evolving player trends.
The Mage class currently holds the top spot, chosen by 40% of players, while the Rogue and Warrior classes follow closely at 30% each. This balanced distribution suggests that all three classes are well-designed, each appealing to a significant portion of players.
When it comes to lineage, the majority have opted for Human (43%) or Elf (40%), with Qunari and Dwarves chosen by fewer players at 11% and 6%, respectively. This trend shows a preference for the more classic fantasy races, while Dwarves, despite their lore-rich background, seem to be less favored in this installment.
Faction choices show a similar balance, with Grey Wardens and Shadow Dragons equally popular at 24% each, followed by the Antivan Crows at 16%. Veil Jumpers, Lords of Fortune, and Mournwatch make up smaller portions of the player base.
The even spread among factions suggests that BioWare has succeeded in making each faction distinct and appealing to different playstyles and story preferences. No single faction dominates, pointing to a carefully crafted faction system that resonates with a variety of players.
One notable stat is the death rate in the quest Sea of Blood, which has the highest player mortality so far, despite not being the most challenging quest overall. Since Sea of Blood is an early recruitment quest, players encounter it before they have fully adjusted to the game’s combat mechanics, likely contributing to the high number of deaths.
This early challenge appears more related to timing than inherent difficulty, reflecting a common experience as players adapt to Veilguard’s combat style and systems.
These initial statistics, though limited, highlight emerging trends and preferences among players in Veilguard, revealing a well-balanced class and faction structure.
BioWare’s announcement of more stats to come has generated excitement as fans look forward to additional insights that may capture how the game’s dynamics evolve over time. By analyzing these stats, BioWare can keep fans engaged and potentially use the data to shape future updates and content aligned with player interests and tendencies.
