WWE Superstar Bayley recently addressed a shocking attack by Nia Jax during the latest episode of SmackDown. The current Women’s Champion was seated at ringside for a match between Naomi and Tiffany Stratton, which unfortunately ended in a No-contest after Nia Jax intervened and targeted Bayley with an unexpected assault.
In a conversation with WWE correspondent Byron Saxton on SmackDown LowDown, The Role Model took responsibility for the incident, admitting that she let her guard down. Recognizing her position as champion, Bayley acknowledged that she should have been more vigilant against Jax’s attack from behind.
Bayley Opens Up After SmackDown Attack
She described the experience as humbling but emphasized that she had learned from it and vowed to prevent such situations in the future.
“I am feeling not so good. A little rough, a little sore, a little freaking mad to be honest. And I’m so annoyed. I’m quickly reminded who Nia Jax is, The Irresistible Force, the competitor she is, the person she is, and I’m quickly reminded what it’s like to be a champion. You always got a target on your back. I should know that. I should have eyes on the back of my head because I know sneaky Nia Jax, I know this sneaky roster. I know that people would do anything to get to this, I’d do anything for this. It’s a little bit humbling to be honest. I’m humbled. I’m hurt but I’m humbled,” Bayley shared during the interview.
Looking ahead, Bayley’s next challenge will come at Backlash France, where she is set to defend her WWE Women’s Championship.
Following the inconclusive match between Naomi and Stratton, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced a Triple Threat Match for the title, placing Bayley against both Naomi and Stratton.
