During the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, AEW Star Keith Lee made an unexpected (and accidental) appearance, adding a funny and unexpected moment to the event.
On Friday, April 5th, the Hall of Fame welcomed inductees, including Paul Heyman, Bull Nakano, Muhammad Ali, Thunderbolt Patterson, and Lia Maivia, into the Class of 2024.
The ceremony boasted a constellation of stars, with both past and present WWE Superstars in attendance.
In the midst of the proceedings, Kayla Braxton was conducting a backstage interview with CM Punk.
As Punk spoke, the former NXT Champion inadvertently walked into the frame, only to realize his mistake in a lighthearted moment before promptly exiting.
The presence of AEW star Keith Lee at the WWE Hall of Fame raised questions among fans.
Lee, a former WWE Superstar, attended the event alongside his spouse, Michin, who is a SmackDown star.
After departing WWE and joining All Elite Wrestling in 2022, Lee teamed up with Swerve Strickland and secured the World Tag Team Championships.
However, Lee has been absent from television screens since December 2023. He was slated to compete against his former tag team partner at the World’s End pay-per-view but was unexpectedly withdrawn from the match due to an undisclosed injury.
On December 30th, Lee disclosed the challenges he had been facing with an injury since Arthur Ashe Stadium 2022.
Despite efforts to manage it, his condition worsened post-Final Battle. Lee expressed uncertainty about his ability to perform for the fans, given his physical limitations.
Following reports of surgeries, Lee’s wife took to social media to refute rumors, clarifying that claims of heart and throat surgery were unequivocally false.
Prior to his hiatus, rumors circulated about Lee’s dissatisfaction with the promotion, and speculation arose regarding his potential departure.
