CRKD is set to unveil an enhanced iteration of its acclaimed Nitro Deck Switch controller, introducing the Nitro Deck+. This latest offering not only serves as a controller but also transforms into a portable Switch dock, providing users with added convenience and versatility.
Similar to its predecessor, the Nitro Deck+ is a cohesive unit designed to hold the Switch or Switch OLED screen securely, replacing the need for Joycons. Setting itself apart from most third-party controllers, it establishes a direct connection to the Switch through the console’s USB-C port. This direct connection ensures superior response times compared to controllers reliant on wireless connectivity.
The standout feature of the Nitro Deck+ is its HDMI out support via the USB-C port, enabling users to switch to docked mode seamlessly without removing the Switch from the Nitro Deck+. Furthermore, the package will include a USB-C-to-HDMI cable, simplifying the setup process.
Enhancements in the Nitro Deck+ extend beyond mere connectivity upgrades. It boasts a redesigned symmetrical thumbstick layout, additional programmable buttons, an eject function for effortless screen removal, and improved rumble functionality.
Retaining all the features of its predecessor, the Nitro Deck+, like the standard Nitro Deck, includes anti-drift Hall Effect thumbsticks with interchangeable stick tops, programmable back buttons, USB-C charging passthrough for uninterrupted gameplay, adjustable trigger sensitivity, gyro and rumble support, turbo mode, as well as Bluetooth compatibility.
Scheduled for release in late April at a price point of $70, the Nitro Deck+ is currently available for pre-order in clear black and clear white color variants through CRKD’s online store. Pre-orders are anticipated to be accessible on Amazon leading up to the launch date.
For those unwilling to wait, the original Nitro Deck is presently available on Amazon at a discounted rate, featuring various color options bundled with a carrying case. While lacking the HDMI out and other enhancements of the Nitro Deck+, the original model remains a dependable choice for users seeking a premium controller grip for their Switch or Switch OLED.
In addition to the Nitro Deck+, CRKD has unveiled the Neo S wireless controller, offering similar features to the Nitro Deck. This versatile controller, compatible with the Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile platforms, features swappable thumbsticks, programmable back buttons, gyro controls, and more.
The Neo S controller, priced at $50, is set to launch alongside the Nitro Deck+ in late April, offering consumers nine color options, including three designs crafted by renowned graphic artist POPeART.
